First Post

This is my first shot at blogging.  I hope to not only show what maintenance practices we do at the course I am at.  I am hoping to learn from other superintendents that see my practices and can give me some pointers.  Some of them hopefully on how to do this blogging stuff.

I also hope to hear and talk more about the business of golf.  I've been around it for a long time, I hope to tell stories and reminisce about growing up around the golf course, how I got my start, talk and debate about what we might be doing right and wrong in the business.  I'm always up for a good debate and like to give my thoughts and opinions. 

I also hope to talk about the sport of golf, those that are playing, courses they play, the personalities in the golf world, equipment, and hopefully learn some more about the history of this great game.

Of course, I will occasionally sprinkle in some of my other passions, one never knows when we find other common interests.

I hope it will be a fun and learning experience for me, and hopefully for all that go along for the ride, or at least I'm entertaining?

Since I started this on leap day, I guess if it doesn't go well, I can post again in 4 years?  At least I didn't start this on April Fool's Day.
